Egoscue Rehabilitation, Thoracic Connect & Postural Alignment

Shawn’s Approach

Shawn has integrated the Thoracic Ring Method, Franklin Fascia Release and Clinical Pilates techniques to realign your posture and mitigate pain.

Clients see results very quickly as he gauges your bodies misalignment’s intuitively.

Additionally clients are given at home movements to enhance healing. As your body realigns you may be integrated in to Therapeutic Tower/Reformer Pilates as part of your treatment plan for lasting results.

The Egoscue Method is particularly effective for:

Back Pain, Shoulder, Elbow, and Wrist Pain, Hip Pain Migraines, Knee Pain, Plantar Fasciitis, Ankle Pain, Jaw Pain.

Pain is not something to be feared; it is something to be understood.

Egoscue Postural Assessment

The initial session begins with a 90 minute postural assessment and treatment plan.

For example, our weight distribution isn’t 50–50 left to right and we’re not “vertically loaded,” meaning our head isn’t sitting squarely over our shoulders and our hips all the way down through the knee and ankle joints.

This leads to weight not being evenly distributed on our feet and our feet not pointing straight ahead. Therefor we gather the data from your assessment to begin unpacking your body’s systems.

The body is intricately connected, so all of its systems and subsystems are interrelated and interdependent. When one part of the body is not working as it should, there can be a domino effect in which other areas of the body are thrown off.

Some common postural integrity issues today include a change in the curve of the back and a forward tilt of the hips, which can result in neck, shoulder, back, knee and/or foot pain.

Postural & Structural Alignment

Services designed to restore balance, improve posture, and support natural movement.

Methods may include:

Manual Osteopathy

A refined, hands-on approach focused on supporting the body’s natural alignment, mobility, and overall balance. Sessions are tailored to the individual and draw from a wide range of advanced osteopathic techniques designed to reduce restriction, improve joint motion, and enhance how the body functions as an integrated system.

Training in a Masters-level osteopathic program allows for the integration of techniques such as muscle energy methods, craniosacral and subtle rhythmic techniques, myofascial and fascial release, strain/counterstrain, Still Technique, balanced ligamentous tension, facilitated positional release, and joint mobilization. Additional approaches may include soft tissue work, oscillatory techniques, lymphatic support methods, and when appropriate, more direct adjustments such as HVLA.

This comprehensive approach supports improved posture, ease of movement, and overall structural balance.

Egoscue Postural Alignment

A personalized system of corrective exercises designed to address postural imbalances. Through targeted sequences, this method helps realign the body, improve weight distribution, and restore more efficient movement patterns. Clients are often provided with simple, effective routines to reinforce progress at home.

Franklin Fascia Release

A movement-based approach that focuses on the body’s connective tissue (fascia). Using small tools, guided movement, and body awareness techniques, this method helps release tension, improve elasticity, and enhance coordination. It supports smoother, more efficient movement throughout the body.

Trigger Point Work

Focused pressure is applied to specific areas of muscular tension to help release tightness and improve comfort. This technique supports circulation, reduces localized discomfort, and assists in restoring more natural movement patterns.

Cupping

A technique that uses gentle suction to lift and decompress soft tissues. This approach may support circulation, reduce areas of stagnation, and encourage the body’s natural recovery processes. It is often used alongside movement and hands-on work.

Muscle Energy Techniques & Reiki

Muscle Energy Techniques use gentle, guided muscle contractions to support joint mobility and restore balance within the body. Reiki offers a complementary, energy-based approach that promotes deep relaxation and supports overall system balance. Together, these methods address both physical and restorative aspects of care.
